OUR ESSENCES
From a dream born in Bali to a quiet sanctuary on Muhu Island — Dharma Resort was
created as a home for stillness, reflection, and connection. Discover the meaning of Dharma and meet the hosts who brought this vision to life.
“A place where simplicity and soul find their balance.”

🌱 REGENERATION 🌱
Dharma Resort is built on a simple idea: every stay should leave both the guest and the island better than before. We keep the resort intentionally small, the architecture quiet, and the pace unhurried, so that nature, not noise, sets the rhythm. Regeneration for us means restoring clarity, balance and space – in the forest around us and in the lives of the people who come here.
🌲 Honoring island and forest
Today, we place our two villas (which will grow to eight in the future) carefully among the pines, with a minimal footprint and respect for the land. Paths follow existing clearings. Outdoor lighting stays soft, and we leave much of the forest wild so birds, moss and undergrowth can thrive. Here, the forest is not a backdrop – it is the heart of the stay.
🧘 Wellbeing as self regeneration
We see wellbeing as more than treatments on a list. Daily yoga, massage, meditation and a studio for painting and craft give guests space to slow down and reconnect with themselves. As a result, guests use screens less. Their breathing feels easier, and they often leave with a clearer mind and a lighter body.
🤝 Local community and culture
Dharma Resort is part of life on Muhu, not separate from it. We work with local farmers, makers and guides so that the value from each stay stays on the island. In addition, guests can explore local food – from simple island dishes to Michelin-starred experiences – and meet the people who keep these traditions alive.
🤍 People, dignity and fair work
Regeneration begins with how we treat our team. We offer fair, safe and respectful working conditions, with room to learn and grow. Because of this, our culture is inclusive and low-ego: service is warm but not pushy, attentive but not staged. We want both guests and staff to feel comfortable, respected and themselves.
⚙️ Thoughtful operations
Behind the calm atmosphere, we are practical and careful with resources. For example, we choose long-lasting materials and focus on efficient energy use and responsible water management. We also keep reducing waste and single-use items. We review our impact regularly and adjust, knowing this work is never finished.
🌍 Giving back beyond property
Our responsibility reaches beyond our own forest. Dharma Resort supports selected environmental and cultural projects on Muhu, and hosts small retreats on mindful leadership, creativity and climate-conscious living. As a result, our guests leave not only rested, but also motivated to bring a more regenerative mindset into their own work and communities.
