THE STORY OF DHARMA

A WAY OF FLOWING WITH LIFE

The story of Dharma Resort began in late 2019, on Bali Island, around the time when news of a global pandemic was just beginning to circulate. Life still felt mostly normal, yet there was a quiet sense that
change was coming. Before the world officially slowed down, a simple wish had already taken root — to create a home close to nature, a place of calm, stillness, and peace.

We found that home in Rässa village, on Muhu Island, Estonia. Locals call it a little mythical—a place where time slows, and
the forest, the birds, and the sea seem to whisper. When we first arrived in spring 2020, the land was simple: tender blooms, soft sunlight, and the gentle warmth of the season. In that moment, we knew: this was where we belonged.

From spring 2020 until autumn 2022, we nurtured ideas, sketched dreams, and let our vision grow quietly. Taking the first steps was slow and deliberate. Over time, we realized the beauty of this place was too good to keep to ourselves. What started as a personal dream naturally grew into something we wanted to share with others. So in summer 2025, Dharma Resort opened — a simple, quiet place to slow
down, reflect, and just be.

The name “Dharma” is not easily translated. At its heart, it is harmony—with life, the world, and ourselves. It is intention, integrity, and alignment. A gentle reminder to act thoughtfully, honor the balance around us, and live fully, gracefully, and with awareness.

Dharma Resort is more than a place to stay. It is a sanctuary for body, mind, and spirit. Thoughtful homes, seasonal food that nourishes, and spaces for yoga, art, and cooking invite guests to explore, create, and reconnect with themselves.

Oh—how rude of us. After all this storytelling, we forgot to introduce ourselves. We are two simple, introverted souls: Sven Kotkas, the spark of unexpected ideas, and Raymond Dharma, the hands that quietly bring them to life. Together, we pour care and intention into every corner of Dharma Resort—and if you’re curious, step inside, pause, and see what two introverts can create.
